Cord fabrics

Kordárna, a.s. is one of the most important producers of cord fabrics in Europe.

Cord fabrics fulfil the key function of the reinforcement of a series of rubber products and principally influence the final quality.

APPLICATIONS:

• Bodies and bolsters of tyres
• Air springs
• Hoses

Depending on the application and the production technology of the client, various materials are used in cord fabrics. Kordárna, a.s. is able to deliver all types (according to the client's specification):

• PET
• Nylon 66
• Nylon 6
• Viscosis
• Aramid
• PEN

As additional material, we deliver:

• Nylon 6 and nylon 66 chafer fabrics for all types of tyres
• POP packing fibres for various applications

Strategically the most important type for us is PET cord fabric where, since 1999, in cooperation with our affiliate company Slovkord, a.s. (production of HMLS and the standard PET fibre) we deliver part of our whole production of PET HMLS cord fabrics as an integrated solution made from our own fibre. The planned significant modernisation and expansion of the production capacities for PET HMLS fibres in 2008 will enable us to offer our clients much greater scope.

The history of the production of cord fabrics started in 1950 and through this tradition which is supported by our own know-how and development, the constant modernisation of the machine equipment, the education of our employees and the improvement of the quality control system, we are able to fulfil the long-term expectations of our partners, including the largest global tyre producers.
