GEOSYNTHETICS

Geosynthetics cover products with at least one component manufactured of synthetic or natural polymer, namely in a form of band, belt or a three-dimensional structure. They are used in contact with soil or other materials in civil engineering earthworks and building constructions.
Geosynthetic fabrics can be made of various polymers; of polyester (PET), polyvinylalcohol (PVA), polypropylene (PP), etc. The benefit of PET consists in low elongation and high strength, PVA is endowed with high strength, extremely low elongation and high chemical resistance and PP is highly chemically resistant with acceptable elongation.

FAQ (frequently asked questions)

Are geosynthetics products recommended for a wet environment? Will they decompose after a few years?
Our products are resistant to both acid and alkaline solutions. They are mainly used in wet environments. Their service-life is stated as 115-120 years.

Will they damage the aggregate structure of the geogrid? Which gravel is more resistant, frit or cobble gravel?
The recommended material for geogrids is crushed aggregate. Binding the sharp edges of the cut pieces into the holes of the grid gives the best effect for anchoring of this reinforcement in the ground.

If I use sandy ground for construction of the filling, will the whole body disintegrate?
The best reinforcement for sandy ground is woven geotextile. Creating a so-called wrapped-around face and anchoring the geotextile in the ground, provides the best possible reinforcement effect for sandy ground.

If geosynthetics are used for the reinforcement of railways and road base or for asphalt-concrete surfaces, will there be additional loading of the reinforcement at high speeds and high traffic loading?
The strengthening characteristics of geosynthetics are tested in both our own and other European testing institutes. If the correct technology is used for placement into reinforced bodies, a high resistance and service life is guaranteed for the reinforced constructions, as well as for our materials.
