Basic Information

The company Kordárna, a.s. is a leading European producer of technical fabrics for the rubber industry. It produces a full assortment of cord fabrics commonly used within the rubber industry. Clients of the company include some of the top European and global tyre producers. In addition, the leading global producers of technical fibres are long-term business partners of our company.
Kordárna also produces a full assortment of technical fabrics used within the production of transport belts. Modern technological equipment enables the delivery of technical fabric in all the variants and widths commonly used within the production of transport belts.
Experience acquired over the 60-year history of the production of technical fabrics for the rubber industry has, in recent years, enabled Kordárna to rapidly enter the geotextile and geogrid market for the building industry.
The cord plant, whose historical traditions date back to 1948, while continuing with the traditions of the Bata plants in Zlín, can be considered as the focal point of the KORD Group.
Kordárna is located in Velká nad Veličkou, near the Czech-Slovak border.

Based on an approved reorganization plan, the newly-established company KORDÁRNA Plus, a.s. took over all business activities from KORDÁRNA, a.s. in April 2010, the employees of KORDÁRNA a.s joining this new company at the same time.  

In May 2010, the owner of one hundred percent of the shares in the newly-established company KORDÁRNA Plus,a.s., the Czech investment company CEFEUS CAPITAL, a.s., became the winner of the selection procedure. Creditors’ claims were settled from the proceeds of the sale of KORDÁRNA Plus, a.s., these claims having originated in the previous stage of business activities prior to the start of insolvency proceedings.  

A constituent part of the transaction is also ownership interest of KORDÁRNA, a.s. in its service subsidiary company KORDSERVICE, a.s. (100 % share), as well as a share in the service subsidiary company Technické a úklidové služby, s.r.o. (also 100 %) and interest in the Slovak company Texiplast, a.s. (over 47 %).  

The agreement reached and the transaction structure has allowed for uninterrupted operations, the saving of jobs and the continuation of the original KORDÁRNA a.s’s business activities in the new company, KORDÁRNA Plus a.s.
