Foundation of the company

The construction of the Kordárna company in Velká nad Veličkou was commenced by the company Bata Zlín in May 1948.
The efforts of the municipality representatives to build the industrial enterprise in Velká nad Veličkou date from 1918; it was actually finalised on 16th May 1948. There were great celebrations in the village on this date during which the first excavations for the foundations of the new enterprise were made.
The first production hall was completed in 1950 with production commencing in the second half of that year. Kordárna was constructed with a capacity of 4,000 tons of fabrics per year. After the commencement of production in 1950 in Kordárna, 109 employees were employed and they produced 645 tons of mainly cotton cord fabrics.
